Who is Your GPS?
“Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live. There I will go to the altar of God, to God- the source of all my joy. I will praise you with my harp O God, my God!”
I must admit, I am one of those people who would not find her way out of a paper bag! I have no sense of direction at all. My husband, who is quarter American Indian, says his Indian name would be “little eagle no get lost”. You could blind fold him stick him out in the middle of the desert and he will find his way back home. Like a bad penny – always finds his way back home.
It is so comforting that today we do not have to go somewhere to meet with God and pray. He is right here by our side forever and ever! Not only is God by our side but the psalmist writes that God is the source of our joy as well.
In a world that seeks happiness and joy in worldly pleasures such as sex, money, fame, people etc…. and never finds what they are truly searching; it is comforting to know that real joy – everlasting happiness and joy is not found in “things” nor earthly people – but in a loving God who truly cares for us and provides for us.
God’s truth (1John 2:27) provides the right path for us to follow and God’s Light (1John 1:5) provides the clear vision we need to follow that path.
I am not the person you would ask for directions on how to get somewhere, but I do know who you can turn to when you feel surrounded by darkness, uncertainty, sorrow, sickness… -follow God’s Light and Truth. Pray to the Lord to guide your path; for He will never guide you down the wrong path.

Great words of encouragement, Michele. I am glad that I can trust God to guide me through the winding paths of life.
