Words that Encourage

Occasionally, I pull up old post on my blog and reread the comments that were left.  I then randomly follow the links from the comments to the blog of the person that left it. What I’ve found is that many of the blogs are no longer updated or rarely updated, (like mine). However, many of the sweet comments still encourage me and lift my spirit when I read them. I wonder sometimes if those bloggers know that their words still have an impact. Not just the blog posts they wrote but the comments that they left when they visited someone’s blog.

I don’t know why many bloggers left the blogging world, but I do know that it’s easy to get discouraged. You put words and thoughts into the blogosphere and you wonder if it has an effect. Does it mean anything to those who read it? Does anyone read it?

It isn’t just blogging. It can apply to whatever you’re involved in, the thing you used to feel passionate about, but your passion has dried up because you don’t know if you’re effective at it. However, I’d like to encourage anyone who feels discouraged today, you matter! What you’re doing for God’s kingdom matters! The gift He has placed inside of you is touching lives in more way than you may ever realize.

May we all continue to use the gifts He has given us for His glory.

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Colossians 3:23 (NLT)

The passage from Colossians I have pinned in my cubicle at work. It helps me to stay focused.
I haven’t written anything on my personal blog for years. I remember the first time I published on my blog, and no one visited. Over the years I have met many amazing women through my personal blog, including you. My favorite was to write for Thankful Thursday and linking up with others.
