Are you reading the red letters?
I am a lover of music. Music is my inspiration on good days, bad days and in between day. It soothes my spirit, lifts me up and gives me hope. Sometimes when I can’t find the words to pray or praise I turn my music up loud, sing along and tell Jesus my heart through the words of my favorite songs.
One song that has spoken to me lately is Red Letters by David Crowder & Ed Cash. I’ve been listening to it repeatedly. The song has inspired me to spend more time reading the red letters in my Bible immersing myself in what Jesus is saying directly to me. It’s not that I haven’t been reading my Bible but lately I haven’t been spending a lot if time in the gospels. However, I have decided to become reacquainted with the red letters.
It feels great to get lost in the words of Jesus. To allow His words to minister to me and give me answers that I didn’t even realize I was seeking. I’ve been reading some of my favorites over and over again.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. John 14:1 (NIV)
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)
When you read the red letters it’s impossible not to feel wrapped up in His love. To be reminded of His love and sacrifice for you is to love Him even more.
Thank you Lord for the red letters that has changed my destiny!

Always refreshing to have a reminder to look to Jesus.
I love music too. Especially when I’m troubled, sometimes a song with the exact message I need to hear lifts my spirits.
I love music too, Bernadine. One of the things that keeps me sane during the week. I love your words about reading the red letters. I have been spending this Lenten season in the Gospels, and it is so refreshing.
