Live it Out, Even if You Are Scared

Sometimes, life is scary. I’m not talking about the things that go bump in the night, I’m talking about those big, giant steps of faith that scare you to death! I had one of those scary moments this week, I’m still not sure how it will come out in the end but one thing that I do know is that my faith in God will give me the courage that I need.

Fear is a crude tactic of the devil. In the Bible, there is a story of how a man used fear to manipulate his way but only to find out that God is not intimidated by scary things. You know the story of Pharoah and his attempt to eliminate all Hebrew males, but do you remember the two midwives in the story?

Shiphrah and Puah, the midwives that were not following Pharoah’s order, were summoned by Pharoah for their misbehavior. Likely, the women feared what lay ahead for them, but their fear was not with Pharoah, they feared God more which is why they were able to do what they did – not kill the male Hebrews.

How courageous they were. Because of the courage that their faith in God presented, they had nothing to fear from a man. When we put our trust in God and not the liar of fear, we can face anything and come out standing courageous.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Whatever has you scared today, face it and live it out. Even if you are scared, God is with you!

BLESSINGS. Laurie

Sometimes those scary steps have given me the greatest testimony. I will believe that for you.
