As far as the east is from the west
I love to travel. In fact this summer I traveled from the south (where I live) to the north (where our family lives). The thing about traveling north or south is that if you traveled far enough, you would eventually hit the North Pole or South Pole and be on a continuous path. If you need a visual: imagine a globe; draw your imaginary line going north, once you hit the North Pole and continue on your path, you will then be going southward towards the South Pole. North turns into south.
Traveling East to West is entirely different. Take that same globe and place your finger on East. As you travel east, the only way you could travel west is if you turn around and go the opposite direction.
Keeping that same visual in mind; isn’t it interesting that God Himself, said that He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west. Notice He did not say from as far as the north is from the south, because that distance can be measured in miles and in time. The east from the west is not measurable and God wants us to know that no matter how hard we try to find our sins that He has forgiven, there is NO way! We can try to look for them but it will be like going around and around in circles, like a dog chasing their tail.
As a once famous rapper once said, “You can’t touch this!” Our forgiven sins are no longer ours to hold. By God’s grace, they are simply vanished! Gone! Finished!
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He has removed our transgressions.” – Psalm 103:12
God recently reminded me that people sometimes have a hard time forgiving wrongdoings and past mistakes, but God Himself, no longer holds us captive. When we ask Him to forgive us, He does and His Mercy will cast our sins into the sea of forgetfulness, as far as the east is from the west.
Thank God for His marvelous gift of forgiveness and mercy!
PRAYER: Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for forgiving me of my sins and not bringing them back up again. Help me to be the kind of Christian that not only leaves my past in Your sea of forgetfulness but also the past and mistakes of others. Help me to be a east to west follower of You! AMEN

great post
Thank you Denise!
Isn’t it wonderful to know that He does not hold out sin against us. We need to be more kind to ourselves and let it go.
Agreed Iris! There is no greater critic than ourselves! Thankful for God’s grace!
