Broken Over and Over

In our recent move we had to buy a new stove. We purchased our stove from a local well known store about a month ago and anticipated our new appliance the following week for delivery. However, on the expected day of delivery we got word that our stove was received damaged and could not be delivered. With great disappointment we had to wait for our replacement stove to arrive.

One month later we still wait. Our replacement stove did indeed get shipped but it too arrived damaged and the one after that also. As I write this, we are waiting on the fourth stove to be delivered, hopefully not damaged.

In this world we have a lot of brokenness; broken relationships, broken promises, broken hearts and yes, even broken stoves! Most things that become broken need some TLC to become like new again. Whether it’s a broken knob or a faulty cord, when put in the right hands, what was once broken can be used again.

Likewise, when our lives become broken over and over, perhaps from financial hardship or sickness or some other kind of trial, we are dependent upon the right Hands to bring restoration to our being. I’m so thankful that God does not leave us broken. He uses our brokenness to grow us, strengthen us and so that He may restore us for His glory.

“For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.” (Hebrews 12:11-13)

Whatever is keeping you down and feeling broken, will you trust your brokenness to the One Who can deliver exactly what you need. Pain can have purpose. Lift your hands and find strength in your brokenness today and see how God will bring healing to your broken heart and spirit.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for keeping watch over me and when I find life leaving me broken; THANK YOU that You won’t let me stay that way. Use my pain to do a work in me that will become something beautiful and that will bring You Glory! AMEN

BLESSINGS. Laurie

Sometimes out of a broken vessel, God brings sweet anointing. I always consider the alabaster box “broken and spilled out for the Master.”
