Turn to clear vision

Proverbs 2:9-12 NIV “The you will understand what is right and just and fair – every good path.  For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.  Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.  Wisdom will save you from the ways of the wicked men, from men whose words are perverse.”

In my words: 9 Then you will comprehend what is right, just and fair and you will reach the correct path to follow.  10 Wisdom will be inserted into your heart, and knowledge will fill you completely with delight.  11 Good decisions will guard you.  Understanding will allow you to remain secure from danger.  12 Wisdom will deliver you from wicked and damaging people, the ones who speak distorted words.  They’ll keep you on the correct path and from following bad directions of those who are lost and don’t know the difference between a turn that can lead to safety or destruction.

Wisdom and knowledge are like the lookouts in the crow’s nest in a ship.

The crow’s nest is positioned in the upper part of the mainmast of a ship and used as a lookout point.  Its position provides the best view for the lookout to see into the distance to scout for danger that may lie ahead.

If you are a ship sailing without a lookout keeping a close watch for hazards to avoid, then you are in a whole lot of trouble.  There would be no way of knowing what is ahead waiting to crash into your life.

It’s too risky to just blindly walk through life and not have on the glasses of wisdom and understanding that give us clear vision to see danger ahead and enables us to make good decisions that will keep us safe and on the right path going in the right direction.

There are way too many hazardous situations waiting to trap you. Our human eye doesn’t contain the insight needed to discern the situation.

Wisdom and knowledge scout ahead for danger that we can’t see on our own.  It is crucial that we have wisdom and knowledge from God before traveling down life’s pathways.

Without them we are unable to decipher between a right turn and a wrong turn.

We need help making good decisions and protection from danger. They’ll help us know the difference between a road that will lead to safety or destruction.  They’ll give us the power to see into situations and discern what is obscure.  Both of them together provide protection!

Are you protected?  Are you wearing the glasses of wisdom and understanding?

Blessings,

Krista
