Do NOT compromise!

For the past 6 months our son and his family have been living with us. Life has not been the same at our house with a toddler living with us. It has been a few years since we have had to say “No, don’t touch that.” “Be careful, its hot!”

For a Grandma, saying no is not always easy to do. Especially when those big eyes are looking up at you and saying, “Pwease?”

It takes everything in me somethimes to say no to that precious baby.

Often times, I think we have the same mentality when it comes to saying “No” to things in our life that we know we should be saying no to. My granddaughter may whine or cry if I say no to her, but in the long run it is what is best for her.  Sometimes, saying no is exactly what is best for us as Christians.

Rejection is never easy, but do not fear rejection when it is for doing the right thing!

We all like to please other people, but it should never come at the cost of interfering with what our beliefs are or even what Gods commandments command. Don’t fear fear or rejection…the world will never be satisfied. Instead of focusing on pleasing  man, focus on God and what He finds pleasing.

Mark 6:11 “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” (MSG)

I love what Charles Stanley says about this…

“You must never sacrifice your relationship with God for the sake of a relationship with another person.”

So, my friend, if you find yourself being put down because you are willing to stand up for the things you believe in…count it all joy. For rejection of man is much easier to take than rejection of God.

Don’t be afraid to say no to the things that have eternal importance.

It is good to be reminded of that truth! The world is never satisfied. We must aim to please the One who purchased our loyalty with His blood!
