Dangerous Prayers:
God I am willing.
God take control.
God do whatever it takes..
Dangerous prayers are life-altering prayers, where faith and human nature collide. My human need to self-protect can be at war with God’s will.
I have come to a place in my life where I must choose to pray a dangerous prayer. As many of you know, my husband is not a Christian. More than anything I want him to find Jesus. For years I have prayed, asking for his deliverance. Those prayers have not been unanswered or wasted. God worked through the prayers spoken for my husband to craft my eternal character.
However, recently God asked these questions about my prayers: Are you truly ready?
Can you earnestly pray, God do whatever it takes?
Are you willing to walk through fire with him (husband)?
Lynn, will you give up your comforts? Your home? Your health?…… Your life?
*Gulp*
It is easy to pray, O Lord, save my husband but please don’t disrupt my life or my kids lives. Don’t let him loose his job. Don’t let hardship into our lives. Keep us from pain. But please save my husband.
I don’t believe God will demand I forfeit each of these security blankets I desperately clutch to my chest. However, it may take the forfeiture of one to get my man’s attention. Today I am willing and this is my dangerous prayer, God do whatever it takes, period. The end!
Today I stepped into the Danger Zone. No turning back, no turning back!
I Have Decided To Follow Jesus
Verse 1:
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus.
I have decided to follow Jesus;
no turning back, no turning back.Verse 2:
Though none go with me, still I will follow,
though none go with me, still I will follow.
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
no turning back, no turning back.Verse 3:
The world behind me, the cross before me,
the world behind me, the cross before me.
The world behind me, the cross before me;
no turning back, no turning back. By: Anonymous/Unknown
What is your dangerous prayer today? Let’s join together. We are the prayer warriors who walk the danger zone for the cause of Christ.
Lord, teach us to pray the fantastic and the dangerous. Remind us as we pray that we can trust You. We know Your love directs the perfect plans for our lives. Do not allow us to cheat ourselves of the opportunity to see Your power displayed through the fantastic answers to our prayers. In Jesus name, Amen.

- Father I just praise your name…
I have just recently prayed a dangerous prayer which God has duely answered … now I have to start praying for God’s guidance to carry me through those trying times that WILL come due to this!!!!
Thanks for sharing this Lynn!!! God Bless your heart and answer your prayers
I just want you to know that I’m praying for you and your husband!
I am willing to defy comfort and convenience I am chomping at the bit to do God’s work – whatever it may be. I am praying those dangerous prayers too. Whatever it takes Lord, here am I – send me (us)!!!!
I know exactly where you are right now iris – exactly!!

Go Lynn! Pray that prayer and DON’T BE AFRAID! God is good. He knows exactly what He is doing. Whatever comes of your prayer, it’ll be His perfect plan, which is far better than any plan we could come up with. I’m praying for your husband today. Remember, the miracle happened in my husband’s life! It’s NOT impossible! God bless.
I’m right there with you Lynn. Bless you for taking the hard steps! I will be praying right alongside you today! Hugs.
Lynn-
Stop by my place and come visit…I think you will find peace there. I am keeping you on my prayer list and I want to hear updates of how the journey is going.
Isn’t it worth it? Isn’t it worth losing all for gaining something great? I know it’s hard, but with Faith, it doesn’t have to be. Job is a great example of walking thourgh the fire and being delivered by the fire.
Worship Him Lynn! Go and worship Him.
Much love-
Karen
Lynn, I’m with you too. Those are dangerous prayers because, after all, we know how God reaches people – through hardships. Lord, give us the strength to accept God’s entire perfect plan for us and our loved ones.
I think you’ll find that once you pray and really mean those prayers, that’s when you’ll see good things start to happen…
Kind of funny how we sometimes are afraid to pray certain prayers, because they will be answered – in His time… I am standing boldly with you, my friend…
Blessings on your day and always.
These are the prayers I pray while flat on my face, prostrate before Him.
My husband experienced a situation that I have not shared on my blog. In the process of walking that valley with him, our entire family has been pruned and stretched.
I pray with you. {}C
I am praying the same prayer…I very much appreciated this perspective. I never thought about it like that, and yet, I had to be humbled by going through quite a lot.
The thing about dangerous prayer sis that HE LOVES to answer them and when He does, whoo. He is so faithful. I have several dangerous prayers in the works, and He is moving.
I am so touched by this post, and your prayer, Lynn. I prayed a similarly “dangerous” prayer in another kind of situation recently. God demands our all… I will continue to hold the two of you up before Him. (((Hugs))).
I have prayed this prayer! Am praying this prayer now…Over the last few years, God has been making us more and more financially dependent on him. Through job losses, hard times with his own business… I believe to get the attention of my man and bring him to a point that He trusts and believes and loves God, rather than relying on himself. He claims to be a believer, but without fruit to bear witness, my prayer is the same as yours. I have never felt more financially poor and dependent on God, and then we get poorer, and I lean on God more. It sounds scary. It is scary! And yet, for me, God provides peace. I worry. I have my moments. But for the most part, God provides peace and trust, and he continues to provide enough that we are not starving, or naked, or homeless. I must admit – I used to think I knew how to trust God. But even I have had much to learn through this. I used to think I wasn’t materialistic – but even I have learned how much I really need to have, and how much I can survive without. I know that at the end, when God gets ahold of my husband’s heart, we will both be so much the stronger for having walked through the fire, held and led by the hand of God.
If you make this commitment and hand this over to God…You. Do. Not. Go. Alone.
God Bless You. 🙂
I’ve prayed a few “dangerous prayers” and struggled with God’s answers. However, I’ve learnt to say, “God I don’t understand your ways, your answers sometimes, but I trust you all the time.” I’m praying for you.
