It’s Gonna Be Alright

I jumped in my car and turned on the engine.  It felt as if the weight of the world was on my shoulders.  My eyes were heavy from tears that were so close I could feel them about to fall.  I had just gotten some distressing news and I wasn’t sure what it meant and how to process it.

Questions weighed heavily on my mind as I mentally prepared myself for the period of tears and questions I was about to enter with my heavenly father. However before the first tear could trickle down my cheek I heard the lyrics to a song coming across my car radio.

I had never heard the song before so it was a minute before I realized what the lyrics were saying.  As the the words of the song began to register but I knew that it was a message from God just for me.  It said;

There’s no need to cry
Things are gonna be alright
Dry your weeping eyes
God is on your side
There’s no need to cry
Look up to the sky
God is standing by
Things are gonna be alright

The song played until I reached home and then I found it on YouTube and played it some more.  It brought peace to my troubled mind.  I felt that God had spoken directly to my situation to let me know that He is always with me.

As I was encouraged by the song I’d like to encourage you who may be going through something in your life.  Whatever you are facing, don’t give up!  Don’t lose hope! God is on your side! It’s going to be alright.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

God often seem to use my love of music to minister to me.  Can you think of a time when he gave you a message in the music?  I’d love to hear about it.

    God always seems to find a song that I need to hear. One song comes to mind right now “Forgiveness” by Matthew West. As I was ‘searching’ for my word for this year, the song come on the radio. The song has helped me to remember that God first forgave me and that I need to extend forgiveness to the people around me. It really has changed my perspective for this year and I hope for many years to come.

    Hi dear Bernadine, the message you shared here is so timely. There are things which I know are not resolved in my current circumstances, but are quietly trusting the Father for answers. This song touches my heart tonight as I listen to it.

    Blessings…
