Happy Thanksgiving

The table was set for the Thanksgiving meal as family gathered in my parent’s home. My mom was busy in the kitchen; my dad was directing each of us to our chairs and my five-year-old daughter was excited to share what she had learned in kindergarten. To the surprise of many at the table she recited Psalm 100 flawlessly. I can still recall her little voice with great expression and determination saying each word. Much has changed since Thanksgiving of 1992, my daughter is now a mom expecting her second child, my dad, brother and husband have all died and my mother is wheelchair bound. But what has not changed is the message/truths of Psalm 100. Aren’t you glad in an ever-changing world that “the Lord is God.”

I pray this thanksgiving that you will have family and/or friends who can multiply your joys and divide your sorrows. As you count your blessings may you know in the very depths of your being that God loves you, that Jesus died for you and that He will never leave you. No matter what has been added or subtracted to your life this past year, remember “the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:5

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. ” Psalm 100:1-5 NIV

  Hugs to you and yours.
