He Makes me Brave

Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
~ Psalm 27:14 (NLT)

Brave people inspire me. I am not brave, or have ever been. I like to play it safe with everything. With this being said, over the last few months I really have pushed myself out of the ‘safe’ environment – God is making me brave. I try new things; things I have never done before, and I am enjoying the “new” me. One of the things I have always enjoyed is photography (and many of you know that). However, there are other creative outlets that I am enjoying. I started styling myself again; and I truly enjoyed designing our bathrooms. And I hope I have a chance to design more around the house.

What really triggered the change was that I do not need approval from men or women. I need to just be who God created me to be. Paul reminds us in Romans 8 that God is for us, and no one can take that away from us.

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)

My sweet sisters in Christ: life has its challenges, but if we remember to Whom we belong, nothing can hurt us…ever.

Let me share a song that has been humming in my head for weeks. It is a reminder that when we look to God, He will make us brave.

Love that song! I agree with Katie- you ARE brave! Look at how you’ve turned your passion of photography into a reality. Not everyone can step out in faith like you have. It takes a brave and obedient heart.
