His Word in My Heart

My nephew stopped by a few weeks ago to use my computer.  He remarked about the fact that many of the letters on the keyboard are completely worn off and there is no evidence that they were ever there.  The absence of these letters poses a problem for those who do not know how to type and want to use my computer.  But for me, not a problem, the placement of each key is programmed in my mind consequently the blank keys that should contain letters do not faze me. In fact I had not even noticed that the letters were no longer there.  My fingers automatically reach for them exactly when I need them.

I was reminded of my nephew’s comment when I came across the following verse during my devotional time.

Your Word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against You.Psalm 119:11

Reading the psalms always causes me to examine myself.  Have I hidden his word in my heart?  Not as much as I should have. The pages of my favorite bible are faded and worn but I have not spent as much time memorizing scriptures as I should.  Even as the pages of my bible become more and more worn with use I want the life giving word contained on them to be indelibly imprinted in my heart the same way those computer keys are imprinted in my mind so that whenever I need it, which is every waking moment, it’s automatically there.

    Hi Bernadine,

My keys are bare nakie too!! Oh that with every word I type, the Lords’ word would become embedded more deeply in my soul. Excellent post. Have a wonderful day. Love and hugs, Lynn

Oh, how I need to do a lot more hiding so that I can seek and find. What an excellent awaking and an even better challenge.

Oh, so true, Bernadine. Some of the verses are imprinted in my heart, and head. They have come in handy when the day gets to me…but I would love to know more verses that help me throughout the day…

Thank you so much for sharing your heart with us…
