His Word Is A Lamp to My Feet

Philippians

Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
(Psalm 119:105 ESV)

The last two months have been more like a blur than actually living. I am running to and from work, making sure that my beloved makes it to his dialysis. I am tired and exhausted. I haven’t been myself lately, because I keep worrying too much; worrying about the things that I do not have control over. Saturday, after dropping off my beloved for his dialysis, I needed a break. I went to a store that I haven’t been at for a very long time: the local Christian bookstore. I browsed for about an hour; listening to the music, checking out books and Bible studies. One book in particular stopped me in my tracks. The title? “It’s not Suppose to be this Way” by Lysa Terkeurst.

Not only did I purchased the book, but also picked up a Bible Study by Lysa. I am looking forward to digging in, and I know that the Lord directed my steps on Saturday afternoon. The Bible study is about Jesus’ “I Am” statements in the Gospel of John. I think that this is what my heart needs right now. With the time I have during the week, I have to focus on the more positive things, than worrying about the things I cannot control.

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” ~ John 8:12

Lord of Heaven and Earth. Thank You for being a lamp to my Feet and a Light to my Path. Thank You for directing my steps every day, especially on Saturday. I know that I need to go deeper in my relationship with You. Help me to glean from this Bible Study so that I can be a comforter and caregiver to my husband. Thank You for Your love. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Iris, sometimes the break that we all need is just to bathe in God’s presence. Sorry that you are running yourself ragged, my prayer is for God’s strength to carry you!
