How to Make Yourself Miserable
There’s something nostalgic about stumbling on an old rusted out truck in the woods. When you stop to think about it, though, it’s actually sad that it was abandoned and left useless with no way of getting out of its situation. What a miserable way to spend life – not living out your God-given purpose. And yet, that’s the choice we make when we choose misery over victory.
So, just in case you feel like it’s your calling to be miserable, here are 2 tips on how to make yourself miserable.
1) Count your troubles, name them one by one at the breakfast table, if anyone will listen.
2) Worry every day about something. Don’t let yourself get out of practice. It won’t add a cubit to your stature, but it might burn a few calories!
The choice is yours: be miserable and rust out, or dust yourself off and start each day by counting your blessings and praying about everything. I know what I’m choosing.
A Morning Meditation to Put an End to Being Miserable:
When I’m laser-focused on my problems I miss seeing God. Lord, help me to fix my eyes on You and your greatness, not the size of my problems. You’ve got this, I can trust You.
Psalm 145:1-3
I will extol You, my God, O King,
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised,
And His greatness is unsearchable.

This was so good. Thank you! (Love your humor.)
Thank you, Barbara! Sometimes I can see the foolishness of my ways when I let my sense of humor step in. LoL
You are so right, Marsha. We do have a choice every single day. We can either be miserable or fix our eyes on Him who sees us through the storms of life.
