I am Doing a New Thing

new

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:19

I love the fact we serve a God of new beginnings. I can not begin to tell you how many times I have had to have a new beginning. I stumble and fall, but God is there to dust me off and help me move forward. God tells us to always be looking for what is ahead, don’t dwell in the past. Keep the goal in sight.

Sometimes a new beginning could be a change in course. The Lord could be leading you to places you have never imagined. For me it was public speaking. If someone told me I would be standing up before women sharing the gospel, I would have told them they had the wrong woman. But after being offered the opportunity to speak for a woman’s luncheon and the Lord pushing me out of my comfort zone, I have now experienced a “new thing.” The Lord has opened new doors and introduced me to wonderful people through this new thing, but most of all God has poured down blessings I have never imagined.

Like the verse in Isaiah you may be feeling like you are in a desert or wasteland, but God is there making a way through it all. Keep the goal in sight; know that new adventures are right around the corner. I can not begin to tell you how excited I am to see how God is going to move this next year. What about you? Are you excited? Are you ready if God says, “See, I am doing a new thing!”

Yes, I am very excited about new things God is doing in my life. For one thing – He gave me the strength to speak up for once. I am looking forward to other new things as well…

Thank you for your encouraging words this morning…

    Lori,

I’m with you! I’m one of those who gets excited about New year’s to see what God is going to do! It’s like that verse in Philippians: Forgetting what lies behind and straining towards what lies ahead. We’re not to concentrate on the past, whether it was good or bad. We’re to look ahead and move ahead and see what God is about to do in us!

So I don’t really care if I haven’t met my New Year’s resolutions last year, because this is a new year, and God is going to do new things!

It’s been fun to network with you this year and see what God is doing in your life!

Yes! I’m with you. God IS doing a new thing in my life and the life of so many others I’ve talked to. Iris commented on my blog yesterday and said she’s going to live out loud, what a great challenge for all of us. And now you have just echoed it.

    Blessings.

God as brought some new things in my life already this year, that I thought I would never do. He’s taking me way out of my comfort zone!

But isn’t that a prefect way of knowing it was His idea, not yours?

I return to this scripture often.. for God indeeds desires to do a new thing in all of us.. in fact.. He always IS doing new things.. but “do we not perceive it”?

Thanks for the reminder to take the time to listen and watch and see what He desires…

Such a timely post Lori. Yes, God is doing a new thing in me, that’s for sure. I am truly having to put into action my theme for this year; trust and obey. I have no idea what tomorrow holds for me. But one thing I do know is that He is with me, no matter what life brings.

    Beautifully written Lori.

    Love you,
    Debbie
