Jesus, take the wheel

Being in the ministry fulltime, there is one resounding question that we hear over and over and over again…

“What should I do?”

Just this past week, we had someone near and dear to us up against a wall and needing to make a decision. A decision that was wracking their mind and their heart and they just did not know what to do or which way to turn. They turned to us begging us to tell them what to do.

Such decisions are difficult. But instead of turning to man for our answers, we must train ourselves to turn to God.

I have found that the more I become aware of His Presence, finding the discernment of which way to go, (knowing to turn to the right or turn to the left), becomes easier. When we find ourselves close to God, our focus isn’t on the road we should take or when to take it or how to take it…it is simply on Him, trusting Him to show us the way, in His time.

Trust. Such a hard thing to accomplish these days. Why is that? Perhaps it is because so many people have let us down in the past or if you are anything like me, it has something to do with control. Somehow, when we lack control of our situation, it is difficult to trust.

While many people are preoccupied with their future plans and decisions, they fail to see what is right in front of them TODAY! Often times we miss out on what God has for us today because we are so worried about our tomorrows. People who live like this will find a dullness creeping into their life. They will end up sleepwalking through their days as they walk down paths of routine.

God doesn’t want us to be routine Christians. He has designed each day to be a new day. That means putting things behind you and pressing forward. Not worrying about what has not come yet and trusting God’s will that all things will lead to Him. God is not going to leave us out in the wilderness, wandering aimlessly. But, in order for Him to lead us down the right trails of life, we must seek Him. Seek Him in all things and when it comes time to ask the question, “What should I do?” – your answer will come from Him and not man.

It is my prayer today, that you will join me in trusting God for all of the decisions that lie before us. May the only routine we fall into be the kind of routine that keeps usĀ focused on Him.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.” -Psalm 32:8

None of us know what lies ahead for us in 2014, but He does. Do you trust Him enough to allow Him to lead you through all of your twists and turns of what lies ahead?

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I need you to take the wheel of my life. The road ahead looks dangerous and rocky, I don’t know which detours to take. I am trusting You to lead me down the right path, the path that leads me not to destruction but the one that leads me to You. Please, Lord, take the wheel! I trust you and not just today, but also tomorrow, and all the days of my life. AMEN

So true, Laudie. We have a hard time trusting, at least it is true for me. I have been disappointed. so trust comes hard some times. But I hnoww that I can trust God.

Dear Iris, this is sooo me, I want to trust HIM with every fiber of my being but being me I just want to keep my hands in the situation so that sometimes and a lot of times I tie Gods Hands so that He cannot work His Perfect Will in my situation. He gently and sometimes not so gently says to me, “My Love when are you going to just let ME Do THIS and TRUST ME TO WORK IT OUT. MY INTENTION IS NOT TO HURT YOU BUT TO MAKE YOU LIVE FINE GOLD, NOW, TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF AND TRUST ME “Boy that will get your attention, but so humbled I always just bow my head in shame for my,’gotta do it my way,” and humbleness because He loves me just that much that He will speak to me personally just as He speaks to all of His Children in correction and always with His LOVE, He always works out the problem , usually in a way I never dreamed of, isn’t it great when God does a “gottcha” on us, I love HIm so. Blessings Gloria
