No One is Beyond God’s Grace
“God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” ~ Romans 5:20-21 (NTL)
Over the last month or so, I have been part of a morning devotional group on Periscope. I know, another social media venue, but it has been a huge blessing to me. Kim Cash Tate is heading up this group; and she is such an encouragement to me and many others..
One of my favorite things is that we always talk about redemption and especially God’s grace. Here is my thing: we are being watched by so many people on social media and honestly, sometimes I really get discouraged about what brothers and sisters in Christ are saying on social media.
I think that we often forget that we are all saved by God’s grace and that really no one is beyond God’s grace. We, as followers of Christ, have the obligation to point to Him. Even when we go through some hard times. I know it is no easy to be positive when hard times hit. But we have hope! And we should share that hope with the ones that are hopeless. Even if they are persecuting followers of Christ; saying mean things about us, we should always respond with grace.
Christ died for all. All sins are nailed to the cross; past and future sins. Jesus never said it would be easy this side of heaven. Goodness, just think of the early Church. Even Paul as Saul persecuted the early church (also known as “The Way” in early days). But God got a hold of Saul/Paul, and is now known to us as one the greatest encourager in the New Testament.
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33 (NTL)
My sweet friends; remember that God is with you at all time. And we are saved by His grace alone. So, next time someone attacks you because of what you believe, take heart and share God’s grace with them. You never know who might be watching and will see God’s love through you and how you interact with the world. The only difference between unbelievers and us is that we know that we are in need of forgiveness and God’s grace. Without it, we would be just as lost.
“Lord of mercy and grace. Thank you for the reminder that we are saved by Your incredible grace. Help us to point to You and answer attacks with Your grace. In the precious name of Jesus. Amen.”
