The Realm of Possibility

When you are in the darkness of depression, where everything looks grey and unpromising, hopeless and pointless, even a pile of laundry can look impossible.

When you are so busy that you barely have time to scarf down lunch in between finishing one project and starting another, rushing the kids to softball, piano, soccer, swimming lessons, church activities…something as insignificant as cooking a healthy dinner and sitting down as a family seems impossible.

When your children are nipping at your heels anxious for your every attention and their needs seem so great that you can’t seem to sit down all day long, rest seems impossible.

What looks impossible to you today?  Is it paying the bills?  Finding order in your home?  Keeping a guard on your mouth so you don’t snap at the kids or your husband?  Making peace in a broken relationship?  Finally standing up to those fears and stepping out in faith?  Experiencing freedom from the grip of sin and wrong behavior patterns?

With God, ALL things are possible…

Matthew 19:26

Do we really believe that?  Do we stake our lives on it?  Do we trust that if we bring it to God and somehow soak up His power, we could find victory over the impossible?

Just sit there for a moment and let those words hover over you.  I KNOW they are true.  I know deep in my soul that God can do ANYTHING and that if it’s something that is in His will, He WILL do it.  He wants to intervene in our darkness, our busyness, our frustrations and He wants to lead us to victory.  I’m ready to follow His lead and see how He can transform my “I can’t..” into His “I can.”

Amen ladies?

With God….

Anything is possible!

Amen to that, Heather. yes, I often run to get things done, even though our son is grown up. However, when I get too overwhelmed with my to-do-list, I stop to find strength in Him through prayer and word.
