She Speaks Reader’s Contest

shespeaks.jpgThe writers here at Laced With Grace want to thank you for sharing in the hope we have through Jesus Christ. Your comments, encouragement, and support are priceless. We know there are many demands on your time and are deeply touched that you choose to spend a few minutes with us during your day. To share our appreciation, we are offering a contest for our readers.

Because there are so many of you who dream of writing, speaking, working in ministry, or being a better blogger, we decided this would be a great opportunity to help one of our readers take a step closer to their dream. To achieve this, Laced with Grace is thrilled to team up with the Proverbs 31 Ministries to offer a partial scholarship for the upcoming She Speaks Conference.

This conference offers something for everyone. The conference date is June 20- 22, 2008 and will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel Resort & Conference Center in Concord, North Carolina. In addition to the writing, speaking and ministry tracks offered this year the conference is including workshops tailored for bloggers. To read more about She Speaks (click here).

Our contest prize is a voucher valued at $250.00 to be applied to a conferee’s registration. The winner will still be responsible for the remaining portion of their conference fee as well as transportation and all other expenses.

To enter our contest drawing all you need to do is stop in and leave a comment as well as the words; “enter me.” You can enter once a day, so stop in everyday and leave us a comment from March1st through the 31st on the daily devotionals. Each day you enter we will drop your name into the virtual basket and on March 31st we will randomly draw a name. We will announce the winner on April 1st – no fooling!

Some of the writers for Laced With Grace will be in attendance and would love to meet you there. Thank you again for joining us at Laced With Grace. We pray the words you read here inspire you, fill you up, and most of all honor the Lord Jesus Christ.

Contest closed – see who won here.

    The time to be happy is now;
The place to be happy is here.

I don’t look back at my years without the Lord as awful years, similar to the Isrealites, I was in the wilderness. I still find myself there sometimes. I don’t look back and feel bad. I look back and I’m grateful for where I am today. The past can offer a plethora of learning experiences that you can share with others to help them. God’s plan is perfect and wherever I am today; some day I will look back and think, WOW, I thought I had it good then. Everyday the Lord blesses me more and more. I am thankful and grateful for my past, present and future becuase I am a child of God and I trust Him completely!!

    Idols-

It is truly amazing to me how many things we put before the Lord. Laundry, kids, spouse, work, television, video games, shopping, even sleeping!! I am currently in the process of beginning to tithe. It’s funny because I get really nervous about it – wondering, “How am I going to pay my bills if I tithe?” I’m sure a lot of people (unless you tithe from day one, which I think I may try to instill in my children) have the same – FEAR. That’s what it is Fear and Idolatry. The LORD blessed me with the wonderful job that I have and the home where my family lives. The LORD is my PROVIDER – yet I forget that and think money is my provider. I think in a lot of cases we dont even see when we are idolizing something – however, if we are not 100% reliant on the LORD, then there is something somewhere that we are putting before Him. Thank GOD that We are already FORGIVEN!!!! :o)

You know what the good news is? That even though we change, our circumstances change, people change, our feelings- emotions- & thoughts change constantly, surroundings change God never changes Jesus is the same today & forevermore. That means stability, security & dependability for me when nothing else can promise me that hope. Thank you Jesus that I don’t have to guess w/ you or try to keep up w/ the changes!!!

He is Risen, so should we be. Risen from the depths of hopelessness, despair & rejection. He is in us, for us around us & we are One. We forget this sometimes but we can remind ourselves “He is risen” That’s good ne3ws on this Good Friday!

Praise be to the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Cor 1:3-4

Don’t eavesdrop on the conversations of others.
What if the gossips about you & you’d rather not hear it?
    You’ve done that a few times, haven’t you-said things
Behind someone’s back you wouldn’t say to his face?

    Ecclesiastes 7:21-22 The Message
    (Hey, I didn’t say it-the Word does)
