Sometimes I Cry
Sometimes I Cry
” But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.” Psalm18:6 NLT
It figures that the day I am to write a devotion is the day I just want to sit down and cry. I could post an “oldie but goodie” or ask someone to post for me, but I am being honest like Jason Crabb sings, “Sometimes I cry”. I know that I must hold on to my Lord’s promise that He will never leave me nor forsake me. I must hold on to the fact that for everything there is a purpose, and reason. I know too that He continues to test my faith and that I will be stronger for that as well. But to be honest -There are days when I just want to cry – give up and give in – but God says hold on – press on! So today, instead of writing a post, I think this song says it best. I appreciate your continued prayers. If you are going through some trials as well, may the lyrics to this song minister to your heart today and encourage you to hold on – It’s okay that sometimes we just sit down and cry. Let your precious Savior know how you feel. It’s okay to cry.

Sometimes I Cry, written by Gerrald Crabb and sung by Jason Crabb
I look the part
Blend in with the rest of the church crowd
I know the routine
I could list all the bible studies in town
Watch christian TV
I know all the preachers, their cliches
I’ve been born again
And without a doubt I know I’m saved
But sometimes I hurt and sometimes I cry
Sometimes I can’t get it right
No matter how hard that I seem to try
Sometimes I fall down
And I stumble over my own disguise
But I try to look strong
As the whole world looks on, sometimes alone I cry
I try to speak faith
Never give that old devil, no, not even an inch to get in
I do worship and praise
Let everybody know just where that I stand
And on the back of my old four-wheel drive Chevy
Is a fish and a cross for the world to see
‘Cause I know my God is good, all of the time
Yes, there’s no doubt for me
But sometimes I hurt and sometimes I cry
Sometimes I can’t get it right
No matter how hard that I seem to try
Sometimes I fall down
And I stumble over my own disguise
Well, I try to look strong
As the whole world looks on, sometimes alone I cry
Sometimes I fall down
Stumble over my own disguise
Well, I try to look strong
As the whole world looks on, sometimes alone I cry
And I try to look strong
As the whole world looks on, but the truth is
Sometimes alone I cry

It’s okay to cry, sis. Your tears are precious to Him. I’m so sorry life is hard right now. Love you. Praying.
Bless you Michele. He catches every tear in the palm of His hand. Just prayed for you precious woman of God. Such a moving post, thank you.
Michele, sometimes there is nothing left but to cry. I have those days and if we would have everything together, there would be not need to turn to the Father Who gives us strength and peace.
