Taking on Too Much
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT – emphasis mine)
I have to admit, I often think that I am still in my 30’s. I just take on too much!!!
Not only I am in the process of restarting my portrait business (professional head shots), we are also in the process of renovating our two bathrooms. Yes, we have hired professionals to do the actual job, however we want to renovate them to our liking. This means I am searching high and low to find good deals; purchasing items as I find them. Although we are very excited about the renovations, it is just one more thing to handle.
Paul is saying In Philippians to not to worry…and thank him for all he has done.
We too often forget, in our daily race, to thank God for all He has done for us. Yes, we have long to-do-lists, but there should always be time to thank Him. Today I am thankful for…
1. My husband’s health improving day-by-day
2. We have funds to finally renovate our old home
3. God keeps us safe on our daily commute to and from work (and dialysis)
4. Although I am no longer in my 30’s, I still have enough energy for my daily tasks and then some
5. I have a job that takes care of our monthly bills
6. My husband’s work is still carrying him on their health insurance
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” ~ Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT)
My sweet friends, take time daily to thank God for what He has done in your life.
- Playing in the Garbage
- Don’t Jump to Conclusions
Praise God for the improvements. His mercy is endless.
Iris, so happy to hear your hubby is improving. Sometimes in life, we need to make improvements, so whether it’s a bathroom or our bodies, we must take care who we invest our care to. Good luck with the bathroom project, I know it’s no small feat to accomplish! But well worth it in the end.
