Trusting When We Can’t See

I don’t usually like surprises. I’m the one who likes to know the end of the story before it even begins. When it comes to life, I’m really not much different. I like to know what each day holds and more specifically, what the months and years hold. I’ve been learning that our Father doesn’t quiet work in this way.

Sometimes we can know what the months may hold in certain areas. There are times that God may give us insight and a glimpse of the future. We should be thankful when that happens, but when it doesn’t happen, we should try to accept it. There’s always room for growing and learning in our relationship with the Father. If I knew what everyday held I wouldn’t be able to handle it and the Father knows that. He doesn’t want to torture us or make life miserable for us. He loves us and wants best for us.

He wants us to trust Him and believe He has everything under control. It can be hard even when things are going great, but when things seem to be falling apart it can almost seem impossible to trust. If we knew what each day held, it would enable us to prepare, which would disable our trust in the Father’s sovereignty. If we knew every event that would happen to us, good or bad, we would be try to prepare. We wouldn’t have to trust and listen to the Holy Spirit. Faith in the Father would then, be pointless. God wants our trust completely. He has good things in store and sometimes trials help us to get to the good He has for us.

If you’re facing trials that seem never ending and unknown days are ahead, know that God does have it all under control. He just wants you to trust Him. Thank Him for being all knowing and almighty. Trials can build our faith in our Father, so let Him build His reputation with you.

Father, thank You for knowing what we don’t know. Thank You for having all things in Your hand and in Your control. Help us to let our walls down and trust Your hand. When we can’t see Your face, may we still know You’re there. Give us the strength to let go and fall into Your open arms. Thank You for being the All-Knowing and Almighty Father who watches over us. Help us to rely completely on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Yes, it is all about trusting Him with our future. Some days it is really hard to just trust, but He knows what is best for us. Thank you for the reminder, Heather.
