You are on your way

Philippians 1:6 “I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

We are like caterpillars when we start our spiritual walk with God.  We were made to fly, but first we have to grow and mature to get there.  It takes time before we turn into beautiful butterflies and begin to fly.  We must understand that the journey from being a caterpillar to becoming a butterfly is a process that takes time, patience and grace from God.

You can’t expect to never fall and scrape your knee when you are first learning how to walk.  It’s not realistic to expect a child just learning to walk to never fall.

It’s the same way when it comes to our walk with Christ.  When we take a tumble, we end up beating ourselves up for not being perfect…for “not flying” like butterflies.  You can’t expect a caterpillar to fly like a butterfly if it hasn’t matured to that level yet.  We have to realize that we will fall and it’s all part of the learning process.

Don’t beat yourself up over the times you have tumbled to the ground.  He is patient, loving, and full of grace, waiting on you to take His hand and press on.  Over time you will grow, mature and develop into the person or “butterfly” He is making you.  Don’t get discouraged when you can’t carry out what you think is expected of you.  We are NOT expected to be perfect and never make mistakes.  Becoming a butterfly is a process, over time you will get there and start flying.

Until we leave this life and enter into our promised eternal life with Christ we will not reach the fullness of what God has for us.  Until then, we will learn, grow, mature and develop into what God has created us to do….fly!

Krista, how very true your words are. As long as we are on this earthly journey, we continue to grow and be transformed by the Lord. I’m so thankful that He gives us His Word and prayer.

    Welcome to Laced with Grace!

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie
