You No Longer Live There!

Have you ever wished you could go back to how things use to be?

Sometimes, it would be advantageous to turn back the clock, but I never want to go back to what I once was.

I heard a Pastor say, “Sometimes returning to familiar places reminds you of the very reason you no longer reside there”.

Once you receive the love, the grace and the forgiveness of Christ, returning to your old way of doing things should never cross your mind. Well, it doesn’t cross mine anyway. I no longer want to live there!

Choosing to not reside in those places that we have been redeemed from doesn’t mean that we never face temptation, however, with the grace of God we can go forward instead of backwards.

The enemy would like us to turn around and go back and he uses things like regret, guilt and sometimes old friends to lure us to turn around but God has something better for us, a better place for us to call home.

Abraham left the comfort of a good place (Ur of the Chaldeans) to follow God to the land of Canaan. The journey was not exactly pleasant for Abraham and his wife Sarah. I’m sure at times they thought about turning around and going back. But God’s promises weren’t behind them, they were in front of them.

(Hebrews 11:16) “They were longing for a better country – a heavenly one.”

The best days are ahead of us. Stop looking back, instead, look forward for a better country and be thankful that you no longer have to live where you once did.

BLESSINGS. Laurie

Amen to that, Laurie. I still want to go back to my home country, but I am also grateful to where go has taking me; back in to His mighty arms.
