It’s Possible!

Matt 19:26

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

 NIV

A little while back, I hit the milestone of turning 40.  Around that time, I realized I needed reading glasses.  After I picked up my prescription.  I struggled between needing them and feeling dizzy when they were on.  In time, I came to depend on them with small print.  One day, I was cooking and realized the print was entirely too small to read.  No matter how much I blinked, walked to the light or held out my arm… I could not see it.  Finally I caved, and went in search of my glasses.  I perched them on my nose, and voila! Suddenly, those tiny dots became letters. It was totally possible to read then!

There are so many prayers that I have prayed that are impossible.  Without the lens of the Holy Spirit, it is not visible to the naked, human eye.  But when I get my faith supercharged, all of a sudden, in the Spirit I can see it!  I can see it as already happening!  Something deep within me believes.  Truly believes that He can do what I have asked of him.

Back in the 90’s there was much talk in Christian circles about “praying through.”  That seems a little bit weird or nebulous.  But it means praying until, in your spirit, you know that you know that God has heard you.  And you have been given peace in your heart, that God is going to do it!

Dictionary. com defines impossible as:  not possible; unable to be, exist, happen, etc;.

incapable of being true…

There are things that I am believing for that seem incapable of ever being true.  About me.  About my family. About our finances.  About ministry.  About our country.  But in those situations, it is the most important time to press on in prayer.  Sometimes, we have to level with the Lord and tell Him, “Lord I believe, but help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24).

Do you need something from the Lord that seems impossible?  Dare to ask him to expand your faith!

Dear Lord, please help my faith to increase.  Help me to walk in the gift of faith.  Give me spiritual eyes to see and believe.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.
