Prayer IS the answer

James 5:13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Father,
There are some wounds in this world that seem beyond healing, that never go away. I can’t even imagine the atrocities that many have witnessed or experienced. When I want to do something to help, but I feel helpless, I know only one way to love your people. On my knees, I bring the hurting to You, I ask for answers to hard questions and I seek wisdom for the lost. The only way I know how to approach the problems of each day is to bring them to You. Sometimes You amaze me with answers beyond my expectation and healing and clear direction. Other times, not.

But when I lower myself to my knees and bow my head before You, oh Lord, I find something that can’t be found anywhere else. I find the peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:6-7) and I begin to grasp Your love that is higher and wider and deeper and longer than I could ever comprehend (Ephesians 3:16-18). Songs of praise fill me with the knowledge of Your presence and I rest my feet upon the rock of hope in an unshakable eternity.

I don’t always find answers, but I do always find YOU.

Your daughter, Heather

P.S. Is there anything I can pray for you today?

Oh sweet Heather, this is so timely for me.

“I don’t always find answers, but I do always find YOU.” Profound.

    Thank you.
