See A Victory

There’s power in the mighty name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I’m not backing down from any giant
‘Cause I know how this story ends
Yes, I know how this story ends

The praise team sang this song on Sunday. It was my first time hearing it. Immediately when I went home, I searched it out on YouTube and listened to it repeatedly. As I listened to the song and sang along, I felt encouraged and strengthened.  It was as if Jesus Himself was reminding me to stop worrying, rest in Him. The fight is fixed, the victory is predetermined, and I know how the story ends.

I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord

We get caught up in the ups and downs of life sometimes. It worries us and sucks the joy of living in the moment and fully enjoying life away from us. However even in the storms of life we need to see a victory. Remind yourself that this fight we’re in is a fixed fight. We may receive some cuts and bruises along the way, but we will win! We know how the story ends.

45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 1 Samuel Version 17 45-46 (NIV)

David wasn’t afraid to face Goliath because he trusted God. He believed he would experience victory and he did. Whatever you may be facing today I hope you will listen to this song and be encouraged.  Remind yourself that you don’t have to be afraid because you know how the story ends.

The battle is not ours – God will take us to the finish line for a victory! Love that song also! Thanks for sharing.

Powerful message, Bernadine. I agree; we don’t have to be afraid, but sometimes it takes a lot of faith to move forward. I love that song too.
