Organic Thanksgiving
The red and yellow confetti covers the floor of the earth. The grass is still green underneath.
It mirrors my life with so much alive out on the limb that it swells into bursting color, lets go, and takes wing.
There is shedding because only so much life can be held at once.
It begins to overflow, and a season of change falls to the ground in living color.
Trees clap their hands and a bounty of organic confetti floats free, the way thanksgiving bursts from hearts laden with blessings ripe.
Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
